Our Excelitas facility in Wiesbaden, Germany is primarily responsible for our detection and lighting business with key functions in sales, administration, research and development, applications engineering, product management and other disciplines. This site specializes in IR Sensing solutions including thermopiles and pyroelectric sensors for remote temperature measurement or motion and presence detection; high-performance sensors and pulsed lasers for LiDAR and 3D sensing; photodiodes for smoke detection; photon counting modules (SPCM) for luminescence or other low-light-level detection and industrial and photonics flash devices.

Responsibilities

• Supporting customers with technical questions
• Supporting the sales team in product selection and compiling technical customer requirements for preparing quotes
• Working closely with the development department to create product definitions and specifications for customer-specific samples

• Conducting and documenting application measurements, tests, and comparative studies

• Collaborating with business unit management / product management to create roadmaps for product development
• Creating training materials for product training, as well as internal sales training and external training at the customer’s site
• Preparation of product descriptions for customer presentations

• Assisting with the technical evaluation of customer complaints and field feedback

   

• Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or scientific field – preferably physics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and German – additional languages welcome
  • Good understanding of radiation physics, optics, and the fundamentals of electronics
  • Experience with thermal IR detectors, sensor systems, or comparable high-tech products is a plus
  • Knowledge of system and application design (e.g., signal processing, noise analysis, calibration, environmental conditions)
  • Preferably experience in developing or customizing application software, scripts, or evaluation tools (e.g., MATLAB, C/C++) is a plus
  • Ability to listen to the customer and translate their needs into product requirements
  • Experience in project management
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to visit customers, partners, and trade shows (25%)
