Senior Process Engineer

Job Description:

• Provide manufacturing support for optical thin film coatings to ensure on-time delivery and production targets are met.
• Lead new process introduction activities, including process development, capability enhancement, and machine upgrades.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives such as cycle time reduction and machine process transfer (in/out) to enhance productivity.
• Provide technical support on proper substrate handling and integration into the coating environment, including substrate preparation methods.
• Operate and utilize metrology instruments for thin film characterization, such as spectrophotometers.
• Identify and diagnose production issues, collect and analyze supporting data, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to sustain process performance.
• Develop and maintain documentation for thin film processes, including SOPs, work instructions, and coating process plans.
• Support the Material Review Board (MRB) in the disposition of discrepant materials and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for NCMR cases.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s / Bachelor’s / Diploma in Physics, Materials Science, Optics, or a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of thin film coating experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in optical thin film coatings is preferred.
• Experience with thin film software and strong understanding of optical thin film design.
• Hands-on experience in vacuum evaporation and Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) is preferred.
• Proficiency in optical coating design software such as FILMSTAR, OptiLayer, TFCalc, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean principles; experience in implementation is an advantage.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
