Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.

This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense, and aerospace, as well as research and development. 

We are presently seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer that will manage and oversee Optics Front End and Machine shop equipment maintenance,
as well as support plant's EHS operation.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical expertise to the Front-End and Machine Shop departments to maintain and enhance equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Develop strategic plans and drive initiatives to achieve production equipment reliability targets for the factory.
  • Ensure maintenance systems and procedures are consistently followed by all team members.
  • Apply TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tools and methodologies to advance through the Planned Maintenance Pillar.
  • Ensure that major capital investment projects are completed on schedule and within budget, in accordance with the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) capital expenditure budget.
  • Be accountable for maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability and downtime within the assigned area.
  • Continuously develop and enhance the technical competencies of team members.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to ensure availability for all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and control repair and maintenance costs to remain within budget, implementing cost-saving measures where appropriate.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards, fostering a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
  • Hands-on experience in TPM implementation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is an added advantage.
  • Strong background in equipment and maintenance engineering.
  • Proven experience in TPM implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated success in applying Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities to develop and guide engineers and technicians.
  • Committed to safety with a strong WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) mindset.
  • Willingness to provide 24/7 support and respond to breakdowns or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
