Senior Cost Analyst

Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations Controlling (Asia), this role serves as a key finance business partner for project portfolio management. The Senior Cost Analyst will work closely with project leaders, operations, finance teams, and IT to ensure projects are delivered within budget, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities.

This role also drives financial discipline across the full project lifecycle, leads regional costing alignment initiatives, and supports SOX compliance and other costing-related activities.

Job Description:

  • Monitor and track monthly project spending against approved budgets
  • Partner with project leaders to review financial performance and forecasts
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual operating plan (AOP)
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and transfer pricing policies
  • Calculate project cost rates and develop standard costing structures
  • Perform variance analysis against standard costs and challenge assumptions
  • Ensure accurate recording of transferred inventory and fixed assets
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Finance, IT) to ensure alignment on costing and reporting
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making
  • Lead and support SOX documentation and compliance activities in collaboration with site Operations Controllers
  • Lead Asia-wide costing alignment and automation initiatives
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement in costing processes
  • Support RFQ (Request for Quotation) activities for the Singapore site
  • Lead annual cycle count process in Asia
  • Perform ad hoc costing and finance-related tasks as required

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or FP&A
  • Strong expertise in product costing and cost analysis
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience in costing process harmonisation or transformation is an advantage
  • Strong business acumen with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience with SAP is mandatory
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven team player
