Job Description:
- Develop and design process workflows for ultra-clean product assembly in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Transfer and develop new manufacturing processes for series production of assemblies and products in the optical fiber field.
- Implement customer cleanliness requirements in cleanroom environments and establish process specifications to ensure stable series production conditions.
- Optimize assembly processes for series products and internal procedures to improve productivity, efficiency, cost, and quality.
- Mentor and develop the team to achieve high performance and drive continuous improvement in assembly processes for semiconductor and life science applications.
- Demonstrate experience in optical fiber assembly and industry-specific contamination control standards commonly used in semiconductor and precision optics assembly manufacturing.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to meet technical budgets and ensure successful execution of technical projects and customer requirements. Oversee task planning, prioritize critical activities, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Implement engineering controls and training programs to achieve a zero-incident safety culture, including laser safety risk assessments and audits.
- Ensure timely closure of RFQs by tracking and reporting turnaround time (TAT).
- Lead customer communications during escalations and provide progress updates to management.
- Ensure operational readiness and successful project handover.
- Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to maximize quality and yield at every stage of production.
- Drive testing strategies, process development, and design reviews for new products.
Job Requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Optical, Materials, Mechanical, Precision Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment, preferably within an optical or laser manufacturing cleanroom environment.
- Proven experience in team leadership within mechanical, optical, laser, or fiber product development or manufacturing in a clean environment.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement projects using Design of Experiments (DOE), 8D, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Design for Manufacture (DFM), New Product Introduction (NPI), and process development.
- Experience in commissioning test and metrology systems for laser and fiber assembly products.
- Familiarity with implementing and maintaining process control measures and quality assurance systems.
- Strong practical knowledge of root cause analysis, 8D problem-solving, and developing solution concepts using Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Experience interfacing with customers and leading escalations or technical discussions.
- Experience working in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100 environments.
- Knowledge of RGA process controls is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Management (e.g., ASQ CQE or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in stringent cleaning requirements, preferably in contamination control for semiconductor and precision parts manufacturing.
- Expertise in product realization, manufacturing readiness, and fiber processing techniques.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in laser and fiber assembly will be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Competent in preparing and maintaining documentation required for the building and testing of precision clean assemblies for semiconductor and life science applications.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- N3 Laser Licence will be an advantage.
