Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.

This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense, and aerospace, as well as research and development. 

We are presently seeking a Project Manager that will prepare RFQs and collaborate with the Business Development Manager to secure new business opportunities.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure product margins align with budgetary targets.
• Monitor and achieve forecast numbers for FAT/NPI projects, recommending corrective actions when forecasts deviate from projections.
• Oversee the RFQ process, ensuring timely responses with appropriate pricing strategies and lead time information.
• Collaborate with Business Development, R&D, and Operations teams to prepare competitive quotes for products and services, aiming for market-adequate pricing.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and track progress along established cost-reduction roadmaps.
• Communicate results within the agreed framework (e.g., open costing) to customers in collaboration with Business Development teams.
• Maintain effective communication with global Business Development and Product Management teams to ensure professional support for customers and monitoring of business prospects.
• Conduct customer visits in partnership with local Business Development and/or Product Managers.
• Provide direction and support to project and product management teams.
  a. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  b. Lead crisis management efforts to resolve issues promptly.
• c. Motivate the team to meet requirements, even amidst sudden changes.
  d. Monitor project development to ensure alignment with objectives, making adjustments as needed.
• Regularly prepare and provide project summaries for management or customers as required.
• Conduct project closure meetings to evaluate outcomes and document lessons learned.
• Facilitate the transfer of products and technology from customers or other sites to Operations.
• Contribute to team success by achieving related results as required.

Requirements:

• Degree or Master Degree in Engineering, preferably with postgraduate qualifications in Business or Marketing.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in Project or Product Management.
• Optics knowledge is preferred.
• Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of key drivers for achieving business goals.
• Confident and highly motivated, with good presentation skills.
• Energetic and dynamic, with strong multitasking abilities.
