We are presently seeking a Data Analyst Intern who will work out of our corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. and is committed to ensuring overall business success and corporate governance. The Data Analyst Intern is responsible for supporting our strategic 80/20 Initiative for the summer. This initiative applies the Pareto Principle across our business by identifying the top 20% of products, customers, and operations that generate 80% of our value, and streamlining or eliminating complexity that does not. The intern will work closely with the Senior Manager, Global Inventory, gaining hands-on experience in financial analytics, manufacturing operations, and data-driven decision making.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyze revenue, product, and customer data to identify the 20% of inputs driving 80% of business outcomes;
  • Support financial modeling and scenario analysis related to portfolio and customer segmentation;
  • Assist in identifying low-value SKUs, customers, and operational costs that can be simplified or eliminated;
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate 80/20 findings to leadership;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, sales, and operations teams to validate financial insights;
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement recommendations aligned with 80/20 strategic goals;
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and research as directed by the Senior Manager of Global Inventory.

 

Requirements:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field;
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

 

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau);
  • Prior coursework or experience in supply chain finance, cost accounting, or business strategy;
  • Understanding of the 80/20 / Pareto Principle in a business context.
