Our facility in Mississauga, Ontario has key positions in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and other disciplines. Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology. The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation.

 

The Mississauga facility is an FDA registered Contract Medical Device Manufacturer.

 

We are presently seeking a Production Team Lead, Assembler that will oversee and coordinates activities of their assigned  production line(s)in order to meet production goals, ensuring established procedures are followed and keeping Safety and Quality as top priorities. The incumbent performs assembly work on the production line as necessary.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide technical, quality, and production leadership to assigned cells/teams to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals;
  • Support and suggest process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns, and reduce manufacturing losses;
  • Direct the activities of a production team within the cell(s) and participate in cell/team activities to meet identified goals;
  • Provide feedback to Production Supervisors and Manufacturing Manager regarding cell/team members’ performance, attendance, and other performance or work-related issues. Communicate and enforce workmanship expectations, administer missing time corrections, and other administrative tasks;
  • Work closely with Planning team to ensure schedule attainment, review production orders and implement production schedules;
  • Analyze and diagnose fixture and test station problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules;
  • Assemble, test, and maintain up to date training and implement training for majority of the products that are released for Production for both self and technicians;
  • Troubleshoot and/or repair units/components without guidance from Manufacturing Engineering unless it is required, while adhering to our QMS;
  • Performs all activities of Assembly Technicians in assigned cell as required;
  • Understand, follow, and enforce all relevant company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act regulation;
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers, Quality, and Operational Excellence team as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to troubleshoot non-conforming assembled products to determine root cause
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, assembly drawings, emails, and memos
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills for report writing, documentation, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage priorities
  • Experience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset
