Our facility in Mississauga, Ontario has key positions in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and other disciplines. Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology. The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation.
The Mississauga facility is an FDA registered Contract Medical Device Manufacturer.
We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing purchasing and procurement strategies to support new product launches, forecasted manufacturing needs, and unique customer requirements across the organization. This role leads a team in identifying and qualifying suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies. The Supply Chain Manager ensures supplier performance and contract compliance to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability throughout the supply chain.
Main Responsibilities:

The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) will specialize in negotiating and supervising supply contracts.

The SCM will handle complex or critical purchases.

As leader of the purchasing group, he/she must provide technical/business leadership and guidance in all responsible areas to ensure practices are in keeping with the needs of the Company’s business opportunities.

The SCM will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to define the objectives of products and services in order to ensure quality control throughout their lifecycles.

The SCM will manage all warehouse activities such as, inventory accuracy programs, inbound and outbound, freight carrier contract negotiations and all customs and traffic legislative requirements.
Supervise:
-
Interview, hire and manage other professionals in supply management.

Develop purchasing policies and establish guidelines for material supply. This includes determining economic order quantities; blanket order duration and establishing safety stock were required.

Must ensure all practices are in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable Quality Standard.

Responsible for mentoring, skills training and maintaining a culture of learning within the team.

Oversee product returns of all components used in the manufacture of products produced and sold by the company.
Strategic:
-
Develop, manage and monitor integrated supply contracts with key strategic suppliers.

Provide forecast data with key supplier partners to ensure Lumen Dynamics’s manufacturing requirements have visibility within the suppliers’ organization.

Look for opportunities across the enterprise to outsource or sub-contract functions/activities to drive value out of the supply chain and leverage existing supplier relationships.

Develop a secure network of global suppliers.
Product Development:
-
Provide a consulting role in new products introduction by providing to the project team input on material cost, availability and suitability for intended purposes.
Financial Responsibilities:

Financial metrics; contribute sourcing strategies and relationship management to reduce direct materials portion of cost of goods sold, inventory turns and days of supply.

Monitor on a monthly basis purchase price variance from standard cost.

Collaborate with marketing, sales and manufacturing planning to drive world class inventory performance.

Conducting quarterly excess and obsolescence material review.

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-
3-5 years’ experience in a technical purchasing environment.

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business management or related field.

Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Must have working technical knowledge of goods and services purchased.

Excellent communicator and demonstrates successful large project initiatives

Demonstrates deep understanding of business process integrations and relationships and has proven track record on leading such relationships

Strong business process knowledge on Forecasting and Planning processes

Strong experience with Contract Manufacturing relationships in machining and electronics assembly

Enrollment in an accredited purchasing program with an institution such as PMAC or ISM.

Strong organizational and leadership skills as well as proven abilities to excel in a dynamic and growing environment.

Ability to work with a diverse workforce in a team environment.

Experience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset
