Our facility in Mississauga, Ontario has key positions in Sales, Marketing, Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Support and other disciplines. Operating since 1984, this site specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of a broad portfolio of innovative LED and Lamp technology. The Toronto facility serves a variety of markets such as electronics, optoelectronics, digital printing, general assembly, coatings, and medical device manufacturing, as well as endoscopy, bioscience research, microscopy and instrumentation.

 

The Mississauga facility is an FDA registered Contract Medical Device Manufacturer.

 

We are presently seeking an Buyer III, Lead that will overseeing the buying process, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, negotiating contracts, and mentoring a team of buyers. The Buyer III, Lead acts as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality products and services.

 

Requirements:

  • The Buyer III, Lead, will participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enahcning efficiency, profitability, quality and customer service. 
  • Lead yearly inventory and utilize all departments to complete inventory cycle counts on time.
  • Manage procurement activities and communicate company specifics to suppliers. 
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Participate and align the Procurement team on POR analysis.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order completion.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Ensure all agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance and performance standards are met.
  • Provide recommendations and improvements to improve operational efficiencies. 
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a technical purchasing environment.
  • 2+ years’ experience leading and managing procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, MBA preferred but not required.
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation, Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) or registration in the education program of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have working technical knowledge of goods and services purchased
  • Excellent communicator and demonstrates successful large project initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong business process knowledge on forecasting and planning processes
  • Strong experience with Contract Manufacturing relationships in machining and electronics assembly
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills as well as proven abilities to excel in a dynamic and growing environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce in a team environment.
  • Experience working in an ISO9001, 14001, 13485 certified, and/or FDA QSR compliant environment is an asset
