The Excelitas facility in Kleinostheim, Germany has key positions in Research & Development, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, and other administrative functions. This facility specializes in the production of infrared emitters for industrial process technology, particularly for heat treatment and drying in a wide range of industries such as automotive, coating, plastics, textiles, food, printing, and glass. Additionally, this site houses a modern application competence center that conducts practical tests with customer materials and laboratory simulations of specific processes to determine the optimal process solution.
About the Position
For our Advanced Lighting Systems Business Unit, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to take on the role of Head of EMEA Sales. In this key position, you will have full responsibility for the EMEA direct sales organization ($80M revenue). Your primary objective will be to drive growth through existing products as well as through new, market-driven innovations.
Your Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the EMEA direct sales organization.
- Develop and implement a market-focused sales strategy aimed at driving revenue growth through both standard and customized system solutions.
- Manage the sales team using KPI-driven methods (e.g., funnel management, minimum margin guidelines, performance management).
- Establish a customer- and market-focused engineering mindset alongside the historically strong scientific foundation.
- Work closely with the Channel Sales team and regional sales peers in AMERICAS and ASIA.
- Ensure close collaboration with Product Management to systematically integrate market feedback and develop customer-centric product and system solutions.
- Lead, develop, and motivate the EMEA team to ensure a consistent sales and marketing strategy across all target markets.
- Identify and develop new market opportunities and ensure growth with scalable standard products.
- Direct reporting line to the Head of the Global Business Unit.
Your Profile
- Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Proven track record in building and developing international (EMEA) sales organizations within complex B2C or broadly based B2B environments, ideally within the industrial lighting or related high-tech industries.
- Strong interest in high-tech products and new technologies.
- Experience in marketing both standard and customized systems as well as components.
- Strong change management skills: Ability to challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on both short-term and long-term business success.
- High level of self-motivation and a strong ability to actively network and partner with adjacent functions (Product Management, Marketing, Operations, Innovation, etc.).
- Excellent communication in English and German as well as leadership skills, along with international and intercultural experience.
