Our Excelitas site in Göttingen is the centre of excellence for the development and production of photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market. For this highly demanding market, the Göttingen site supplies highly complex opto-mechanical modules, subsystems and components for applications in lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging.

In addition, this site manufactures and supplies a broad range of optical and mechanical components, including complete optical systems, to support scientific research and development as well as industrial production.

Your Tasks

• Technical evaluation of customer requests for advanced optical coatings and complex optical components

• Development of complex optical components, analysis as well as simulation of the performance of optical components as a part of sophisticated optical systems and modules

• Engineering of new production methods and processes within the process flow of optical components (polishing, cleaning, coating, fine cementing, and optical bonding)

• Responsibility for subprojects within complex R&D projects

• Support of different divisions as well as different Excelitas sites in case of optics questions

• Support of production in case of technical difficulties and trouble shooting

• Supervision of existing measurement technique as well as integration of novel analysis equipment

• Presentation of our optics competence during customer visit, project meetings, and conferences

Your Profil

• Bachelor or MS with several years of working or related experience in Optics, Photonics, or Physics

• Working experience in the field of complex optical components

• Experience with methods of optical glass processing (grinding, lapping, polishing), cleaning, and fine cementing as well as optical bonding

• Extensive experience in designing optical components (e.g. with Zemax) as well as qualification with standard measurement technique

• Expertise in optical performance specification, optical measurement equipment, and optical coating technology

• Written and verbal communication bi-lingual skills in German and English

• Strong organization skills and data analysis skills are required
