Our facility in Manila, Philippines has been operating since 1996 with key functions in Design and Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and other disciplines. This site specializes in product design, process development and mass production of Photodiodes, Photodiode Arrays and High-Performance Sensors. These product technologies are primarily for LiDAR applications such as autonomous vehicles and range finding, as well as safety and security applications including smoke detection and luggage scanning.
We are presently seeking for a Senior Engineer who shall support assembly and test engineering requirements of Microwave Systems operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support to electro-mechanical assembly (EMA), safety and full compliance testing of power supplies & microwave/UV generator systems.
- Provide engineering support to PCBA programming & functional testing processes.
- Work hand-in-hand with Supervisor in all production and shipment plans.
- Responsible in addressing issues encountered in the build and test of the products.
- Provides engineering analyses on issues affecting functions, quality and reliability of the products.
- Attend to materials quality issues that can affect ability of Production to meet plans. Should work with Quality Assurance Engineering in addressing the issues with suppliers.
- Work with NA R&D and local New Product Introduction Engineering groups in transitioning new variants or designs to production.
- Must practice safety and always find room for improvements.
- Handle value engineering projects. These include qualification of alternate materials, new suppliers, process simplifications, waste minimization, etc.
- Conduct training to new employees to be assigned to the product line. Provide refresher training and certification processes to direct labors and technicians assigned in the microwave systems assembly and test lines.
- Generate and maintain documents used as reference in producing the products as well as in maintaining the quality & reliability of finished goods. These include but not limited to:
- Work Instructions
- Process Control Plans
- FMEA
- Process and Equipment Set-up Procedures
- Product and visual criteria
- Product costing
- Engineering Change Order (ECO)
- Help in setting-up the new Microwave Systems Assembly line during product transfer.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with minimum of 5 years experience in the assembly and testing of power supplies and industrial UV curing systems. Other experiences closely related to the primary requirements can be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the assembly and testing of Power Supplies, Microwave and/or UV generating equipment.
- Other work experiences which were related to the requirements can be considered depending on their applicability to the products and product line to be supported.
- Must have good understanding of inner workings of power supplies and microwave/UV generating systems.
- Must have a good understanding of electronic circuits and the basics of electrical/electronics components, i.e. transformers, capacitors, diodes, transistors, etc.
- Must have management and leadership capabilities.
- Must have high integrity, fast learner and flexible.
- Should have “curiosity” trait that drives investigation and improvements of things within area of responsibility.
- Good in writing and presenting technical reports.
