We are currently seeking a Thin Film Technician who will operate coating chamber systems to produce coated optical components.  

Main responsibilities:

• Understands and promotes a safe environment.
• Sets up tooling (installs spacers/tooling as needed) (help assembles backers) (knows how to locate tooling). 
• Load/unload parts into chambers as needed.
• Understands chemicals that are used throughout the lab and how to dispose of them.
• Foils chambers
• Changes targets
• Performs basic spectrophotometer scans of optical components
• Performs regens
• Bead blasts tooling
• Starts coating runs
• Knows the chamber status of their area
• Can perform simple crystal error recoveries
• Performs and supports 6S activities as directed.
• Knows chamber cleanliness and how it affects quality.
• Works effectively within teams
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Needs to be proficient in basic math and problem solving skills.
• Needs to have knowledge base of excel and other various Microsoft office products.
• Previous work experience in process manufacturing environment desired, but not required.
• Lifting requirements up to 50lbs

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.

This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.
