We are presently seeking a QA Technician that will perform various optical fabrication processes including but not limited to beveling, milling, blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and inspection/measurements.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspections of components and finished products using established inspection criteria.
• Use measurement and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, microscopes, and other quality control tools.
• Conduct inspections in controlled environments, including dark-room or enclosed "black box" inspection stations as required.
• Identify, document, and communicate product defects, damage, or nonconforming conditions.
• Follow work instructions, inspection plans, procedures, and quality standards.
• Handle optical components and sensitive products using proper techniques to prevent contamination, damage, or degradation.
• Record inspection results accurately and maintain traceable quality records.
• Verify product conformance to drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections as needed.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure equipment is calibrated and suitable for use.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience with quality inspection, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record maintenance.
• Experience working in a regulated or quality-focused environment preferred.

Pay Range: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.

This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.
