We are presently looking for a Production Manager who will oversee the management of the Fabrication manufacturing resources to facilitate production to meet our goals for quality, profitability, on-time delivery, and to meet customer requirements.

Main responisbilites:

• Provides structured leadership to implement process control to ensure efficiency and quality in all manufactured products.
• Effective management of the manufacturing resources, including the people, equipment, material, building, and process knowledge that are used to make the product.
• Work across departments, including engineering, maintenance, and technicians, to ensure processes are created effectively for production
• Manage and lead the fabrication technicians’ supervisors or leads.
• Improve operational performance as measured by on-time delivery, job yields, cycle time, and production costs.
• Embed a culture of operational excellence utilizing Lean principles to engage and empower all levels of the workforce
• Understand and positively impact Excelitas’ P&L through insightful management of resources and collaboration with the rest of the organization to strategically grow our business.
• Continually originates ideas to improve the company metrics through problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys, 8D, or fishbone diagram
• Know what is needed to get to coating or other customers and has a daily update on their progress

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) preferred.
• Background in Manufacturing/Operations required
• Optical Fabrication, applicable background preferred.
• Lean leadership experience in a technical manufacturing environment is a plus
• 8+ years of management experience

Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per hour, depending on experience.

Our facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings, and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.

This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology, and an extensive in-house metrology lab.
