The Fixed Asset Analyst is responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Company’s fixed assets records, maintaining compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, and for providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and will be motivated to learn and take on additional responsibility, without jeopardizing the quality of existing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain fixed asset system for accounting, processing and reporting of the assets;
- Generate monthly depreciation expense postings;
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of fixed assets sub ledger and month-end closing activities such as account reconciliations, journal entries and adjustments;
- Perform periodic review of repairs and maintenance expense for proper classification;
- Collaborate with site locations to monitor asset disposals and movements;
- Collaborate with site locations on Fixed Asset Planning and Forecasting;
- Organize and maintain fixed asset user guides and reference materials;
- Monitor and report monthly capital expenditure to managers;
- Review asset retirements and transfers for accuracy, including annual analyses to support retirement and/or impairment assessments;
- Review monthly and quarterly Fixed Assets reporting and perform variance analyses for Fixed Assets accounts;
- Prepares and presents fixed assets schedules to the outside auditors during the annual audit;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 -5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with SAP, Dynamics AX, and QAD is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a very detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to learn new concepts independently.
- Must be proactive and have a strong sense of urgency.
- Trustworthy and works with the highest degree of integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
