Our facility in Batam, Indonesia specializes in the production of lighting and detection product technologies including our Specialty Lamps for industrial and photonics applications, IPL Lamps and Trigger Coils, as well as Infra-Red Detectors (IRD), Sensor Modules and Pyro-electric Ceramic Wafers. Operating since September 1994, this site is also responsible for manufacturing of our Thermopile Sensors (TPS), Thermopile modules (TPM), CCD Sensors and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.
We are looking for an EHS Manager to join our growing team.
The EHS Manager will lead Environmental, Health, and Safety for a multi‑plant manufacturing site in Batam. This role ensures compliance with Indonesian regulations and international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SMK3), partners closely with global EHS teams, and drives strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Accountabilities:
1. EHS Leadership & Compliance
- Own site‑wide EHS strategy aligned with corporate standards
- Lead, coach, and develop the site EHS team
- Implement and maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and SMK3 systems
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian EHS laws and permits
- Act as site EHS representative to regional/global teams and regulators
- Lead Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team
- Manage internal, external, and certification audits
2. Safety, Risk & Incident Management
- Oversee risk assessments (HIRA, JHRA, EAI) and control actions
- Lead incident investigations and corrective action follow‑up
- Drive strong safety culture through training and engagement
- Manage contractor safety programs
- Ensure effective systems for machine safety, LOTO, permit‑to‑work
- Maintain emergency preparedness and drills
- Oversee occupational health and industrial hygiene programs
3. Environmental Management
- Manage hazardous materials and B3 waste programs
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and reporting
- Work with engineering, supply chain, and customers on RoHS, REACH, and related requirements
4. Reporting & Governance
- Maintain audit‑ready EHS documentation
- Prepare regular EHS performance reports for leadership
- Manage EHS budget and cost control
Experience
- 8–10 years EHS experience in manufacturing
- Minimum 3 years in an EHS leadership/managerial role
- Experience managing multi‑plant or complex sites is a strong advantage
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- Strong hands‑on experience with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Solid knowledge of Indonesian EHS regulations (PP 50/2012, Permenaker 5/2018, UU 32/2009, PP 101/2014)
- Familiarity with environmental compliance for export manufacturing (RoHS, REACH, PFAS preferred)
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, OHS, or related field
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certification preferred
- Industrial Hygiene certification preferred
Leadership and Communication
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and global teams
- Structured, hands‑on, and comfortable managing audits and regulators
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
